Welcome to Woodstock: My 21st

I celebrated the big 21 last summer and never got around to showing you ladies the photo's...
I had a 'Welcome to Woodstock' theme and with the help of my good friend and planner Maria Aprile and my lovely, super creative mam, we attempted to turn the bar into a festival for the night..
I loved how it turned out, I was surrounded by my favourite people and favourite things the whole night.... from what I remember anyways... hehe

I thought we pulled it off pretty well on a tight budget. All it took were some posters, fairy lights and wellies stuffed with flowers!

Amazonian's

Imagine Living in such a beautiful place!

The Amazon is the worlds biggest rain forrest and is home to over one million Indians.

Divided into 400 different tribes, many have had contact with civilisation for over 500 years.
There are still some completely un-contacted tribes and activists are fighting to keep greedy oil companies and loggers away from their land.

Inside her home: Dita Von Teese

I may have mentioned on here before that Dita Von Teese is one of my top Style Icons.
The Burlesque dancing Entrepreneur is an Inspiration to strong women everywhere and she is always a vision of old school Hollywood glamour in the modern day.

If her fashion sense doesn't fascinate me enough, now her decor does too..
I recently came across the pictures from a 2011 issue of Instyle magazine in which she opens the doors to her L.A home.

Her lavish home is ridiculously quirky with a retro kitchen and boudoir style wardrobe.

I have so much love for you Dita!

Bringing Icons Back to Life: Fabio Ciraolo

Chilean artist Fabio Ciraolo brings some of our favourite icons back to life by painting them as modern, 21st Century Folk, Dare I say Hipsters?

They're just so quirky!
I'm loving Cleopatra and Frieda Kahlo!
What do you ladies think?

Beautiful Boohoo Capes for under €30

I'm stunned by Boohoo's wide range of Capes and their amazing prices!
Cape's are perfect for this time of year, when you're wearing two pairs of tights, three tops and your pink and purple, polka dot fluffy socks crammed into your boots on the sly, a cape won't go amiss!
Not to mention it's probably the closest thing that'll resemble your duvet, which is what you really want wrapped around your freezing cold body in work every day!

See these capes and more here!

My obsession with mythology dates all the way back to Secondary School.
I remember being given an art project based on Mythology, and the first thing that sprang to mind was the Medusa! A monstrous creature with the face of a woman and a head of venomous snakes for hair. Anyone brave enough to gaze into her eyes turned to stone.
She must have had a hard time dating... eek...
Ironically I ended up making her out of stone, well, clay to be precise.
It was one of my proudest creations and I wish every day that I hadn't of left it in school.

While I opted to make her terrifying with melted marbles running down her crying face, Javier Pinon seems to look at her in a much brighter light. The Brooklyn based Artist uses mixed media & collage to portray the Medusa as a series of Gorgeous, rambunctious women.

I love these so much... it's ridiculous!
It's a nice change from the usual gloomy, dark portrayals.

Disney Fan Art

I'm a fan of Disney, duhhh, who isn't?
I'm also a fan of Art, Admiring not creating, a year of Art college taught me that!
So I was intrigued to see the two combined, and simply searched 'Disney fan Art' during a long pinning session recently.
Boy oh boy was I delighted with the results I got!
So delighted that I thought I'd share them with you..
I find it fascinating how people put their own twist into their favourite characters, from portraits to doodled croquis.. some even making them completely lifelike!

I'm in love with the Lilo & Stitch one, I'm probably being a little biased as it's my all time favourite Disney movie...
Which do you like best?

Bohemian Bedrooms

Does anyone remember the episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch when she got sucked into a Genie bottle? I remember being in awe of it and wishing I could live in there throughout my childhood!
That's a thought I've carried with me into my twenties and I'm still lusting after a chic, inner-city apartment with Bohemian and Moroccan inspired decor.

Now I'm nowhere near responsible rich enough to have my own apartment, but I can start playing around with idea's for my bedroom.. can't I? Then slowly spread the mystical madness into the kitchen and sitting room.. Until my parents wake up some day and think they're in Marrakech!

Would this be your ideal bedroom too? If not, what's your dream bedroom?
